a facilitated "unconference" format initiates
peer-to-peer learning, collaboration,
and innovative thinking
If you're like many educators, it's the love for your learners and concern
for their futures that drives you. As you join the larger community of 21st century educators, you will be
challenged and driven to try new things, meet new people and access new resources that will empower
your learners to drive themselves into their futures.
Every car comes with options that help the driver find their way on the
educational highway but often after we buy the car, we never add new options. We want to offer you the
chance to add many new and free (or affordable) options that will take your school to new places. Your
license will let you drive, but we challenge you to venture beyond the main road onto a more scenic route.
"Unconference" breakout sessions
range from the formal to the informal, allowing for Individualized/Customized learning.
Follow your passion. Go to the session or sessions that interest you.

Designed for educators who were either in the NSDC Coaching Academy or
participants of the Kansas coaching academy held during the 2008-2009 school year.
As coaches work with peers, regardless of the amount of preparation they have, they want
more—more skills, knowledge, strategies, and resources. Essentially they fully embrace their
role as a learner. Building on input from coaches, this day-long session will focus on refining
coaches' skillfulness in key roles, examining case studies related to coaching to personalize
learning, and strengthening the community of coaches in Kansas.
